Soapstone Networks is developing software for carrier’s next-generation networks and is currently hiring Corporate Systems Engineers. If you want to be part of a growing company that is helping shape the future of Carrier Ethernet in the new NGN, this is the place for you!
Soapstone Networks is developing solutions that hide the complexity, technology and structure of transport networks to provide customers with maximum flexibility and adaptability in managing their networks. By creating a common control framework for various network technologies, the Soapstone Networks Provider Network Controller (PNC) enables carriers to create and deploy services quickly by making services network technology agnostic. The PNC is an abstraction layer that sits between hosted services and network/transport, enabling services to be defined by their desired behavior rather than the underlying network technology.
The first application of our PNC product is around a new carrier Ethernet for NGN frameworks. We are taking advantage of the separation of the control and data plane to create a new Ethernet control plane that supports the complete service lifecycle.
Our design methodology is based on agile/extreme programming to enable us to target new markets without a massive new re-planning cycle. The product architecture is extremely modular with independent plug-ins that allows customization and/or retargeting.
This is a prestigious technical position within the Marketing department that will be very visible to both management and Soapstone Networks' architectural team. You will have the unique ability to bring this next generation networks to carriers and partners and provide valuable feedback to the development group.
